About

By day, I’m a divorce attorney.  By night, I plan my wedding, which is going to be on May 11, 2013.  Actually, let’s be serious.  I plan my wedding all day.  My fiance and I live in New York, but we’re originally from Miami, and we’re planning our big day in the 305.  Over the past many months, I’ve learned a lot about planning a wedding in Miami, and I decided to write this blog to help out other Miami brides who are looking for unique venues, cost saving tips and creative ideas for their own weddings.

  1. Hello! My sister is engaged and is planning on getting married in Miami…we’ve just started researching and your blog is perfect!! However, do you have any updates on your plans? where you decided? and what’s ideal for an indian wedding perhaps?

    • Hello! I’m so sorry that I’m just responding to this! I actually had my wedding at the Westin Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables. Although I originally didn’t want a hotel, the rotunda there is gorgeous! I have some ideas for an Indian wedding reception- what is your budget?

  2. Help!! I am looking for an outdoor wedding location in Miami where I can have the music on until 4 in the morning. Does this exist? I really need location help.

    • Hello! So sorry I’m just responding to this. I’m not sure I know of anywhere outdoors that allows for music that late as most neighborhoods have noise ordinance regulations. Even a lot of indoor venues may have earlier cut off times, though I do know that some night clubs are available to rent out for special events and may allow for late night music. Maybe check out some clubs that have outdoor space? I know Cafeina in Wynwood has music outdoors till about 3:00 a.m. and they rent out for weddings. Let me know how it goes!

  3. Hi Jessica – I am in a similar boat as you – I don’t need the music to go as late as 3 am, but 12:30-1 am would be nice. Can you let me know what venue you chose for your wedding? Thanks!!

    • Hi! I ended up selecting the Westin Colonnade Hotel. I had my reception in the Rotunda and my party lasted till 1:30 a.m. I’m not sure what their cut off time would be if you wanted it to end a little later. I had a really great experience with the Westin. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

    • Oops- I just realized you were talking to Jessica from the comment above! But in response for an outdoor venue, the Spanish Monastery says their cut off is 11 p.m but I was promised by the venue coordinator that they never enforce it and that in over 10 years, they’ve never had to close up early for music. I know a lot of people who have gotten married there and say the same. Maybe check them out?
